I think it was nearly 13 years ago that I met this family. I started dating my now-husband in November 2003, and through him, I inherited some of the most amazing friends. He had grown up with this family, I think pretty much most of his life, and Lee and Karen's son was one his best friends, and through my husband, he became one of my friends, too. Years later, I started hanging out with Lee and Karen's daughters, we became friends and I was even honored to be a bridesmaid for one of them. And then Lee and Karen's son met an awesome girl, and so I get to be her friend, too! How lucky that because of my husband, I get to be friends with all of these amazing people! They are such a close-knit, kind and wonderful family, a great credit to Lee and Karen. It's been four years, 2 grandkids and 1 daughter-in-law since their last session, but it was just as much fun. I feel honored to have been invited to capture a bit of their time together. ♥

I cannot believe it's been four years since I last worked with this family...it doesn't seem that long ago! Working with "big kids" is such a joy because I don't get them as often as I do the little kiddos. How these two have grown in four years, and I enjoyed seeing how much they changed and how in many ways they were very much the same. I loved working with their beautiful family, just as I did all those years ago. Laura is a friend that I met through my husband, and I swear, she is always smiling her gorgeous smile, and her husband is always the nicest guy. I'm so grateful they traveled to see me! :)
I have been so blessed to work with this family from their beginning. I've had the honor of seeing their journey from engagement to wedding to maternity, newborn and family photos, and now as they await the arrival of their second beautiful child. It's amazing to think back to when we took those engagement photos, that this is what it was all leading up to. This absolutely gorgeous and loving family. I cannot believe how their daughter has grown in just a year, how different and more toddler-like she is, and such a little firecracker! That dimple and sweet smile just slay me. She wanted to carry her baby doll, and I actually love those photos even more because of it, because I hope that in years to come, it will be a treasured reminder of the little girl she was and how she used to carry her dolly around. I'm very excited to kick off the first of the mini session blogs for the fall season with this family!
