One of my favorite parts of photographing a wedding is being in the room with the bride, mom and bridesmaids before the ceremony begins. The getting ready part. The part where every woman who loves this one woman so much works together to make her the most beautiful bride, to make her into pure gorgeousness for the man who loves her most. Every one of these women works tirelessly with nimble fingers and pure words of wisdom. Somehow their fingers know just how to lace up the back of the dress or to place the veil just right, maybe because they've done it numerous times before and maybe just from that womanly instinct. Perhaps they're thinking back on their own weddings and how all the women they loved most in their lives cooperated to make them into a beautiful bride, or maybe they're dreaming of the day yet to come and how this gorgeous woman will be there in that room to lace up the backs of their gowns. They share advice and give comfort that the wedding will go off without a hitch. They know just the right words and just the right times to laugh. And just the right time to let go and watch her walk to her groom. Photos will be posted to Facebook. Please do not edit or crop the watermark out of the image. Thanks a bunch! Add Comment What's that you say? You didn't get enough of the engagement photos of Robbie and Josh? You're in luck! Here's the second batch comin' right up! The thing I just love about these photos is that the colors they wore, the color of their eyes and the vibrancy of the location colors just come together and really POP! Not to mention the obvious point that they are so perfect together! Robbie and Josh. They have been one of my very favorite couples to photograph, partly because they are such a really comfortable couple to be around and very nice, but they are GORGEOUS together. When I scrambled home after the shoot to get the photos off my camera, I just kept saying, "Wow! I love that shot!" This is the first location that we used (there were too many favorites from the entire shoot to put them all in one blog post). Enjoy! There's still more to come....can you believe it?? More gorgeousness ahead! When Casie at SC Eventhouse discussed engagement photo dates for Erin and Miles, I was a little worried because there were only grey skies in the forecast. But I was pleasantly surprised to have some sun peeking out that day. Erin and Miles have so much fun together....and I believe laughter is one of the keys to a successful marriage. If that's the case, this happy couple should have no problems! Can't wait until the big day! What a fantastic feeling to go through different phases of a couple's life together and to capture all of those treasured memories! About a year ago I photographed Evan and Janelle's wedding, and I was so excited that they gave me the opportunity. Now I'm honored to have to taken their maternity photos, and very shortly I'll be photographing their little guy! Oh, and get this...in these photos Janelle is 8 months pregnant....does she look 8 months pregnant to you? Me neither. {I can't take credit for all of the ideas in this post, and just like I would never want someone to rip my ideas off without giving me credit and because of my great respect for other photographers, if I've used an idea it will be posted directly below the photo.} Ummm...for the record, this was totally Evan's idea (although I think it's quite humorous)! Poor pup...doesn't know that she's not going to be the only child anymore! Today my little sister and brother-in-law welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world. Carson David joined our family, and we are all just so thrilled. Even Big Sister Livi seems completely enamored with this little man and pretty much followed him around the hospital room as he got passed from person to person. And because he slept somehow in a room of 11 people, Livi proceeded to say to him "Wake up, Baby Carson!" Aunt Lucy (4 times over at the age of 8) made sure that Livi held Carson just right...she's got lots of experience by now, after all! Yep, I love this little guy to bits already! Meeting the grandparents... Happy little family. I'm so proud of my little sister. She's just absolutely amazing (and she has beautiful babies, too!). I Heart Faces Photo Challenge: Hugs & Kisses 02/20/2012

Applewood Photography's 1st ever cake smash to celebrate Mr. Harrison's 1st Birthday! It was amazing...everything a cake smash should be. Contact me using the Contact Me! form or email me at aubrey@applewoodphoto.com. You can't imagine how much fun it is! I love doing engagement shoots, but I was just thrilled when my cousin Nick and his fiance McKenna asked me to do their engagement session!
