One of my favorite parts of photographing a wedding is being in the room with the bride, mom and bridesmaids before the ceremony begins. The getting ready part. The part where every woman who loves this one woman so much works together to make her the most beautiful bride, to make her into pure gorgeousness for the man who loves her most. Every one of these women works tirelessly with nimble fingers and pure words of wisdom. Somehow their fingers know just how to lace up the back of the dress or to place the veil just right, maybe because they've done it numerous times before and maybe just from that womanly instinct. Perhaps they're thinking back on their own weddings and how all the women they loved most in their lives cooperated to make them into a beautiful bride, or maybe they're dreaming of the day yet to come and how this gorgeous woman will be there in that room to lace up the backs of their gowns. They share advice and give comfort that the wedding will go off without a hitch. They know just the right words and just the right times to laugh. And just the right time to let go and watch her walk to her groom. Photos will be posted to Facebook. Please do not edit or crop the watermark out of the image. Thanks a bunch!

The wedding was wonderful on Saturday night! Everyone had a fantabulous time, and I loved the vintage everything and kilts...yes, kilts! Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Shirar! All the best to you and many years of happiness! Here are a few very preliminary sneak peeks!
