"On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered, 'Life will never be the same.' Because there had never been anyone like you ever in the world." - On the Night You Were Born Yesterday we celebrated our Sweet Baby Jo's half birthday. 6 months have flown by in the wink of an eye, so quickly, in fact, that I'm just now finishing up photos from her debut into the world. She can now sit and laugh and babble and eat rice cereal and play with her toys and cuddle. She has been such a huge blessing to our lives, a wonderful addition to our family, and a happy little soul to grace the world. It's so odd how before you become pregnant, you have no idea how wonderful your child is going to be, but when you have a child, you hardly remember life before them, that they just seem to have always been in your life and life would be incomplete without them. And so it feels with our Baby Jo. It's hard to believe that in another blink of an eye, I'll be writing to tell you that she's a year old and walking and saying "Dada" and such. Until then, we treasure each milestone and each cuddle and smile. Happy 1/2 Birthday, Baby Jo. ♥ My sister happened to have her baby boy the day before our delivery at the same hospital, so she was able to come down and visit, and my husband snapped this shot of my nephew in the nursery.

My co-worker and her husband recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl into their family and took advantage of a mini session to get a few shots. Isn't she just precious? Her mommy and daddy made a great team, sneaking a few sips of a bottle and then jumping out of the frame between shots to keep her happy. She was an absolute doll! I feel so privileged to be able to capture these sweet photos.
This family has been one of the greatest blessings to my life and to my family's life.
My husband grew up with Scott, so close that they went on vacations with each other's families, and Liz and Scott were high school sweethearts. When I met my husband in college, Liz and Scott welcomed me into their group of friends with open arms. She was one of the least catty girls I ever met, and they both had a knack for making a new person...or old friend...feel important by asking about your life and actually listening. And they both shared the ideals and morals that we also shared. Soon they were married, and had their first child, a son. And then in the blink of an eye, they had a girl and another and another until they had 5 children. It is a blast to spend time with their family because I'm the oldest of 8 and my husband is the youngest of 5. The magic number of kids we hoped to have was also 5, but hey, sometimes God has other plans in mind. So we find joy in their big family. We're their son's godparents, and they are our daughter's godparents. They have done more than a few favors for us and are the most amazing friends. This is my 3rd session with them and one of my favorites of any session I've done. I'm so excited to have gotten the opportunity to once again photograph their beautiful family. |
