{dappled} hickory nut-hunting light When I was a kid, we lived near a state park, so my mom would take us hiking pretty much every day. We made up Native American names for ourselves, and whoever was in the front of the line got to be "Big Chief" whatever their name was. For example, I was Big Chief Bellyacher (I didn't choose it, obviously), my brother was Big Chief Little Turtle, and my sister Mary was Big Chief Little Acorn Planter. She would pick up the acorns off the trail (I know, you're not supposed to touch anything) and plant them in the sandy dirt. Yesterday, Little Miss and I played outside, and it seems every time we do, she becomes obsessed with the hickory nuts in our yard. I think I should give her a basket for collecting because we have so many of these darn things in the yard! But it made me think of my sister and how my little girl would probably be Big Chief Little Hickory Nut Hunter. ♥ First comes {love}. Then comes {marriage}. Then comes the {baby} in the baby carriage! I just adore going through the stages of life with my clients, and although I don't do wedding photography anymore, I still love getting the engagement, maternity, newborn and family photos. What an amazing honor to follow along on the journey with a couple! I've been on that journey with Erin and Miles for a long time now, and I'm so excited for them as they welcome their baby girl into the world. What a little firecracker she'll be! Congratulations, Erin and Miles! I can't wait to meet your Little Lady. ♥
