This family has been one of the greatest blessings to my life and to my family's life.
My husband grew up with Scott, so close that they went on vacations with each other's families, and Liz and Scott were high school sweethearts. When I met my husband in college, Liz and Scott welcomed me into their group of friends with open arms. She was one of the least catty girls I ever met, and they both had a knack for making a new person...or old friend...feel important by asking about your life and actually listening. And they both shared the ideals and morals that we also shared. Soon they were married, and had their first child, a son. And then in the blink of an eye, they had a girl and another and another until they had 5 children. It is a blast to spend time with their family because I'm the oldest of 8 and my husband is the youngest of 5. The magic number of kids we hoped to have was also 5, but hey, sometimes God has other plans in mind. So we find joy in their big family. We're their son's godparents, and they are our daughter's godparents. They have done more than a few favors for us and are the most amazing friends. This is my 3rd session with them and one of my favorites of any session I've done. I'm so excited to have gotten the opportunity to once again photograph their beautiful family.

So this wraps it up for {spotlight} month. *tear* *tear* I love this theme so much, but I'm stoked to see what next month's theme is!! Another week of {spotlight}, and I think it's interesting to see how one person in our 365 Group really excels at a certain type of light, but then they struggle with another. I feel like I've struggled hopelessly with most of the types of light that we've worked on, but this month has been so comfortable for me. I'm glad I'm not comfortable with all of the light themes, so that I continue to grow and stretch in my photography. But I'm seriously lovin' this month. I think one thing that has helped me is that I don't consider spotlight to be completely literal. If an object or person is spotlighted against a dark background, it counts as spotlight for me. The entire ray of light does not have to be shown in the image to make its effect. |
