Well, this month started out great. Beautiful sunsets created amazing rim light every night. I thought this would be the perfect month for this theme because the sun was setting early enough that we could be outside for it. And then, the rain hit. And the cloudy skies. And the cold and wind. And while I love all of these things because they are so cozy and fall-like, it has been disastrous for rim light. So I've tried to make some rim light of my own, but honestly, I got tired and lacked creativity. Regardless, this month has shown me the beauty of rim light and just how powerful it came be to an image.

This little guy has been such a joy to our lives.
Meet my nephew, London. Mr. Big Brother-to-be in February, and he just turned 1 year old. I can't believe how much he's changed in a year! He is always such a happy, chill, adorable guy. And a big guy too...he's as big as my very small almost-2-year-old! Speaking of which, I was hoping we would get some great, only-happens-once-a-year posed photos of my daughter, but it ended in tears and screaming on this day. But London? Well, he had just the session I was hoping to have with my daughter (who, to be fair, is teething and in the end we did get beautiful posed photos). This little guy is such a buster. I just want to squeeze him and kiss his smoochalicious cheeks! This season has been just full of new faces and families. Here's another one!
This family was my last mini session of the season, and what a way to cap it all off! I loved meeting them, and the kiddos warmed right up. The baby did a great job smiling and posing and was as sweet as can be. Then their little girl....what a model! She had the pose down and chatted with me about everything a little girl has on her mind. That little guy. Melted. My. Heart. He reminded me so much of my brother when he was a kid, and at the end, he shook my hand and said, "Thank you for taking our pictures." And then he topped it off with a hug! What a polite gentleman! And the oldest should seriously be a model. I didn't have to pose her one bit or direct her in any way. She is so gorgeous...better hide her away, Mom! ;) Thank you to this family and all of the families who participated in mini sessions this year. I know my schedule throughout the year is limited, so I love mini session season when I get to kick my sessions into overdrive. |
