I am honored to be asked once again to participate in another Share Six Blog Circle, their final one for 2016. This month it's all about bokeh. Admittedly, we usually wait until a couple of weeks into December before getting our tree, but we got ours a couple of days ago...we just haven't decorated it yet. So I have no new Christmas tree bokeh, which I think is some of the most popularly known kinds. Nevertheless, I have some bokeh from last year's Christmas, both of them freelensed. I think this is one of my favorite ways to cheat with the bokeh because your scene it's so dreamy. A couple of days ago we surprised our daughter with a little Christmas tree for her room. Of course, "Jingle Bells" was the celebratory song of choice. This one is also freelensed. Another way to get some great bokeh is make all about the lights. This was taken merely by taking my lens out of focus while walking across Michigan Avenue in Chicago at night. Big cities are beautiful for some "just the light" bokeh. It doesn't have to be artificial light either. A beautiful bokeh background can be made with just the sun and setting your subject up correctly. And finally, one of my favorites of my youngest daughter in her signature pose. This one was achieved with a copper pipe to create a "ring of fire." Thanks so much to Share Six for this awesome opportunity! Be sure to click over to Kathy's blog to follow the circle around and see all of the amazing talent.

{dappled light} We love to hike, and there are a few beautiful woods that are protected by a local organization that buys them up before they can be demolished by developers and builders. We are so fortunate to have ACRES Land Trust to preserve these beautiful areas to enjoy with our little family. I love the thought of using the gift of photography that God has blessed me with to help others. I am happy to say that I have been asked to volunteer as one of the photographers at the SPCA Cat Walk on November 6th. This is going to be an amazing event to benefit the Allen County SPCA through a high energy competition between talented salon stylists from throughout the community. So if you are like me, and you have a tender place in your heart for furry little friends, or if you'd just like to enjoy an evening of fashionable fun, check out their page and order your tickets online today. Hope to see you there!
