I am so excited to have been invited to join the Share Six blogging team! What an honor to work with these awesome ladies in creating a supportive photography community. Each month we share 6 images based on the theme on the 6th of the month in a blog circle. Click the link at the end to follow to the next blog in the circle. March's theme is {RESTORE}. "The Doc is in and she'll fix you up. If you're a toy, then you're in luck. It's OK; don't be afraid, the Doc really knows her stuff. Do you know it's good for you? The doc is gonna help you feel better. Oh it's the place to go when you feel a little under the weather. Let Doc McStuffins do her thing to get you right back in the swing." -Doc McStuffins Theme Song My take on this month's theme focuses on the way my daughter {RESTORES} her stuffies. She is obsessed with Doc McStuffins, even though she's never seen a full episode and she's seen little clips on YouTube kids. Her great grandma made her this awesome doctor's jacket for Christmas last year, so she set up a waiting room, and proceeded to diagnose each "patient" and cure each one with kisses. Then she tucked them all in bed to rest. It was one of the sweetest things I've ever seen, and her imagination just blows me away. As we grow older, I think we forget how to pretend, so it's amazing to watch her little mind work, creating completely different and fantastic worlds for herself. I read an article recently that said that we make our children too busy with activities and that we should create boredom for them because this is when their imagination really gets to work. I find this to be so true...it is when I am in the middle of something with the baby and my oldest must entertain herself that I find her engrossed in incredible storylines, complete with multiple voices and conversations for her dolls and stuffies. Not only does she {RESTORE} her stuffies, but she {RESTORES} my memories of playing pretend as a child and discovering how to imagine great things now. I have joined a group of photographers, Share Six, who will be blogging 6 images each month. Each month is a different theme. Please click HERE to see work from the talented Kathy Ledbetter of KG Ledbetter Photography’s interpretation of this month's theme.
Join us for this month’s theme by posting your {RESTORE} images on our Facebook page at Share Six and to our Instagram gallery by tagging #sharesix and #sharesix_restore. A new theme will come out on April 6th.

Photographing those I love just fills my heart.
My younger sister, Mary, is four years younger than me. When we were growing up, we had a love-hate relationship. We'd get in big blowout fights and then leave apology notes on each other's pillows, up to the time I got married. When we were young (although I'd like to say I was a little kid, but I was embarrassingly older), I used to beat her up and pay her $1 not to tell on me....little did I know she'd be quite a bit taller than me and could beat me up if she wanted to! ha ha! It's a running joke that she made a fortune off of me. Over the years, our sisterly relationship outgrew its childish ways and Mary was even my maid of honor when I got married. She's become a great friend and ally, and when I have something important to share, she's top of my list of people to call. If I have to grow older, I'm glad I have her by my side to back me up and tell me I'm not crazy (even if I am). So when we decided to photograph her family, I was thrilled. Her kiddos crack me up, and they did an AMAZING job at this session. <3 FACT: My little sister is seriously gorgeous. And smart, hardworking, dedicated, athletic, funny, supportive, practical, awesome with her nieces and nephews, ethical, and wise. ALSO A FACT: she and her boyfriend are the cutest, most awesome couple ever. FINAL FACT: I've never seen my sister and her boyfriend ever, ever, ever engage in PDA, so now we have proof! Growing up, my sister Kelly was like my own little baby, my buddy, my fellow superstar. We were together all. the. time. And I loved every minute of it. Now she is my daughter's godmother and my kiddos looove when she babysits. She asked me recently to photograph her and her boyfriend of five (I think?) years, and of course, when you have a couple this awesome, you happily oblige. (And I got some free babysitting out of it. ;) ) We used the field behind my house, which I was pumped about because I never get to photograph clients back there but I think it's beautiful, and I don't photograph couples often, so I am super excited about these! Hope you like them, Kellyman! And now for the bloopers. I've never edited so many bloopers, but I think they're all keepers. ;) John kept making "big eyes" at Kelly during poses. He fits right in with our crazy family! ha ha!
