It's so unbelievable how quickly this year has gone. As I continue to work on this 365 project, I realize how the days pass ever more quickly with each post, nearing that number 365. At the beginning of this project, my daughter was a baby and now she's a big girl reading books in my bed and deciding what she likes and doesn't like. This 365 project has caused me to understand the rapid speed of childhood and the need to bottle up and value every precious moment. Each day that passes is the last time my daughter will run around in a diaper or pretend a box is a rocket ship or play in the curtains, but by the time it's the last time, it's too late to realize what it is and to treasure it. So this 365 project helps me to capture it in my memory in a tangible way forever, to remember those moments when my memory fails me.

This month has been magical. If we had snow, it would be the perfect Christmas. 343.365 Oh, the hunt for the perfect Christmas tree. Every year your Daddy begs me to just get an artificial one. I almost caved this year, because the weather has been so nice, that by the beginning of December, the real trees were completely wiped out. So we ended up at Home Depot for our perfect little tree. You didn't seem to notice the difference. And then a plane flew above us, and you thought it was the coolest thing ever. The last month of the year. The last light theme for our Erin Hensley's Finding the Light group. But if you haven't joined yet, don't fret. I think she's going to keep the light themes going next year. This group has been one of the biggest triggers for growing in my photography, so I highly recommend joining if you have a love of photography. The focus this month is {just the light}. We will focus mainly (or only) on the light in our images. My 365 project is all about my daughter (and next year I get to throw another daughter into the mix...yay!!!), so I'm going to incorporate this light theme as much as possible, but this may be the one month that I don't follow the theme every day. This theme will push me to look more at the light and its beauty, so I'm interested to see how it turns out. To kick it off, I have a few non-365 images of {just the light} followed by my 365 collection for the week. 336.365 One of your favorite pastimes is exploring the yard. What a lucky girl you are to have so much room to romp! Every time we play outside, you find new crevices and hidden spaces. Sometimes you get halfway through and realize you don't like that space after all. I wonder if your love of exploring will translate into a love of traveling like Mommy and Daddy enjoy doing. I just secretly hope that when you are big you explore the world but then always come back to me and don't stay away too long. |
