Erin Hensley's Finding the Light group is focusing on {just the light} this month, and while I've incorporated the light theme into every day of my 365 project, with the holidays and fun photos of the season and the main purpose of my 365 being my daughter, I am going to keep the theme and my 365 project separate for this final month. So here are some of my {just the light} photos, some old and some new.

My brother and sister-in-law were supposed to move to Texas at the end of the month, so I decided I wanted to do fun outings with the nieces and nephews before they left, a weekend for the girls and a weekend for the boys. I've had Sophie and Aidan overnight before, but never Carson or Livi, so I was excited for our special time together. Last weekend, Sophie and Livi spent the night, and my 2 year old daughter thought it was the coolest thing ever. She was one of the big girls, taking bubble baths in the Jacuzzi tub, drinking root beer floats and eating pizza, and watching Christmas movies and eating popcorn. The next morning, I surprised Livi and Sophie with Breakfast with Santa at the Botanical Conservatory. They got to eat breakfast, meet Santa and make crafts. And since I never took Livi's 6-year-old photos, we decided this was the perfect opportunity to get some great shots of her and Sophie with all of the beautiful Christmas decorations at the Botanical Conservatory. I'm so glad I got to spend this time with my beautiful and adorable nieces. They fill my heart with so much love, and they mean the world to me. ♥
The last month of the year. The last light theme for our Erin Hensley's Finding the Light group. But if you haven't joined yet, don't fret. I think she's going to keep the light themes going next year. This group has been one of the biggest triggers for growing in my photography, so I highly recommend joining if you have a love of photography. The focus this month is {just the light}. We will focus mainly (or only) on the light in our images. My 365 project is all about my daughter (and next year I get to throw another daughter into the mix...yay!!!), so I'm going to incorporate this light theme as much as possible, but this may be the one month that I don't follow the theme every day. This theme will push me to look more at the light and its beauty, so I'm interested to see how it turns out. To kick it off, I have a few non-365 images of {just the light} followed by my 365 collection for the week. 336.365 One of your favorite pastimes is exploring the yard. What a lucky girl you are to have so much room to romp! Every time we play outside, you find new crevices and hidden spaces. Sometimes you get halfway through and realize you don't like that space after all. I wonder if your love of exploring will translate into a love of traveling like Mommy and Daddy enjoy doing. I just secretly hope that when you are big you explore the world but then always come back to me and don't stay away too long. |
