Another week of {just the light}. This theme has pushed me out of my comfort zone because I always focus on people, specifically one little curly haired person, when I'm photographing, but it's been so good for recognizing beautiful light.

Just as I had my nieces over a few weeks ago for a special outing and overnight, I had my nephews over and planned for us all to go on the Santa Train. The overnight was quite the adventure! But they loved the Santa Train, and we were able to see and go inside the 765 Steam Engine! Carson's favorite part was Santa Claus, and he asked for a real dinosaur for his backyard. Aidan loved riding in the caboose, and my daughter's favorite part I think was riding in the car with her cousins and eating hot dogs at Coney Island. I feel very blessed to have my little nephews and to be able to spend this special time with them. They're the cutest!
It's so unbelievable how quickly this year has gone. As I continue to work on this 365 project, I realize how the days pass ever more quickly with each post, nearing that number 365. At the beginning of this project, my daughter was a baby and now she's a big girl reading books in my bed and deciding what she likes and doesn't like. This 365 project has caused me to understand the rapid speed of childhood and the need to bottle up and value every precious moment. Each day that passes is the last time my daughter will run around in a diaper or pretend a box is a rocket ship or play in the curtains, but by the time it's the last time, it's too late to realize what it is and to treasure it. So this 365 project helps me to capture it in my memory in a tangible way forever, to remember those moments when my memory fails me. |
