Whenever I see an image with a really great reflection, I am immediately drawn to it. It seems to give the image a little extra something: more depth, more of the subject, more of the story. It doesn't seem as flat as when the reflection isn't there. Reflections are not my forte, but I love when I can capture them. I knew this was a reflection I wanted to capture. We went to see the 765 Steam Locomotive locally, and we were able to snag a seat on another steam engine. Everybody was getting off the train, but I was able to stay a few seconds longer, just in time to get my little one watching the 765 pass by. I had seen images from Meg Loeks (@meg_nlo) and Laura Wood (@ourkiddo) on Instagram using the train window to capture a beautiful reflection and was completely inspired. Although this wasn't exactly what I had in mind, it's one of my favorites. My daughter loves to feel the breeze from the air conditioner in her face and hair, and so I wanted to get a shot of her happiness. I stood in the room outside her bedroom and am so grateful to my husband that he glossed this door so beautifully in order to accidentally capture that slight reflection! One of my favorites. 1) Red coat and beret....she is the cutest. ♥ 2) doughnuts...need I say more? My oldest and I go on regular Mommy-Daughter dates because sometimes Baby Jo can be a bit of a momma's girl, and I miss my Big Girl! So here we are last winter at Tim Horton's on our date. I was so happy when I looked over and saw her standing there looking at doughnuts just like this. I added the bokeh in camera, which is actually from a separate shot of my Christmas tree. I have joined a group of photographers, Share Six, who will be blogging 6 images each month. Each month is a different theme. Please click here to see work from the talented Ceri Herd of Ceri Herd Photography's interpretation of this month's theme.
Join us for this month’s theme by posting your {REFLECTIONS} images on our Facebook page at Share Six and to our Instagram gallery by tagging #sharesix and #sharesix_reflections. A new theme will come out on October 6th.

So happy I got to hang out with this little doll again. And photographing her 3 month photos in the same location we used for her brother's 3 month photos years ago, actually by coincidence, was pretty cool. We didn't get any signature Maeven grins, but her mommy had to work that day and Mommy is her favorite person, I think. However, Maeven's dad did an awesome job getting her fed and happy and dressed perfectly, and then helping entertain her during the session to get some cute little smirks. She is by far one of the happiest babies I've ever come across, just an all around cutie patootie!
