“In the eyes of a child, there is joy, there is laughter, there is hope, there is trust, a chance to shape the future" song lyrics from The Eyes of a Child by the band Air Supply

Picture
106.366 Beautiful Baby Girl, with your deep blue eyes. While Mommy gets your sister dressed, you lie on her bed looking out the window. And once a week we take your photo in that same spot so that after a year we'll see how much you've grown. I can tell you already that it will be bittersweet to look back on this time and remember how very little you were in that moment.
Picture
107.366 You're a cereal addict. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, kiddo. Mommy could eat cereal three meals a day. Your addiction is so bad that we had to put a lock on the pantry.
Picture
108.366 I want to remember always how you look when you take a drink of water. You throw your head back as far as it will go and tilt the cup high in the sky.
Picture
109.366 It was a sleepless night. Big Sister woke up again, screaming in the middle of her room in the early morning hours. Little Sister didn't sleep much at all. I brought you both into our room, but no one was going back to sleep, so we all just laid in bed together and snuggled.

110.366 The weather is warming, and we can go for walks in the cornfield now. Our neighbors over the fence own horses, and you like to go see them on our walks. Daddy holds you, and I think of how strong his hands are around your tiny little body. You two are becoming buddies, you and Daddy. Sometimes you both sit in silence, but you seem to think the same thoughts.

111.366 We went to Hobby Lobby, and since Little Sister needed to ride in the stroller, it was your first time walking. But you are not just content to walk. You wanted to help, so you helped push her stroller around the store, barely reaching the handle and having to walk on tiptoe.
Picture
112.366 The sun came bursting through your bedroom window as you struggled to wake. I have that problem too. We are not morning people, you and I.
