"Little girls are precious gifts, wrapped in love serene. Their dresses tied with sashes and futures tied with dreams." - Unknown
Picture
22.365 I made this tutu for your 2nd birthday party, and you detested it so much that I banished it to an unused dresser drawer. Today you found it and came running to me in excitement. We put it on over your clothes, and you played in it all day. I think Katerina Kittycat had some kind of influence over this change of heart.
Picture
23.365 We thought maybe you'd be a gymnast, but now I wonder if maybe a concert pianist isn't in your future?
Picture
24.365 We played in the snow for an hour and a half, and you just walked (or rode in your sled) around the yard, taking it all in.
Picture
25.365 With baby only 3 weeks away, Mommy and Daddy unveiled your new big girl room, and you thought it was magical. Even the view from the windows is better. We bought the cloud mobile before you were born but never hung it, and you were so excited when you saw it, yelling "Star! Star!" and singing "Twinkle twinkle little star."
Picture
26.365 You can see clear to the barn from this window. There's so much you didn't know existed.
Picture
27.365 We feared several sleepless nights when you first moved into your big girl room, but the first night wasn't bad at all, and after that, you slept like a champ. Sometimes you crawl into your new bed and just lay there, even if it's not naptime.
Picture
28.365 Many of your toys moved into the new big girl room with you, and it's like Christmas Day all over again.

"Little girls are the nicest things that happen to people. They are born with a little bit of angelshine about them, and though it wears thin sometimes there is always enough left to lasso your heart." - Alan Beck
Picture
15.366 You thought that you were pretty hilarious licking the applesauce out of the container.
Picture
16.366 Your new favorite mealtime joke is to lick your plate. You know what? I don't even mind because I remember a time not so long ago when I feared we'd never get you to eat a single bite. You often eat more than I do now, and I'm grateful every day.
Picture
17.366 We put your hair up in a ponytail, and all of a sudden you looked like a big girl. When I showed you in the mirror, you laughed and laughed.
Picture
18.366 Relaxing in Mommy and Daddy's bed with a photo book on a winter's day. And then you close your eyes and pretend to sleep. "I sleepy," you say. Then you pop your eyes open with a big grin and shout "Awake!"
Picture
19.366 It finally snowed, and the cold and wind died down enough that we could play outside. I think you have cabin fever, and you were so excited and immediately jumped up when I asked if you wanted to go outside to play. But I'm not sure you understood that playing in the snow entails the gigantic task of bundling up.
Picture
20.365 We played in the snow for an hour and a half. We spent most of that time with me pulling you around the yard in the sled. It's a lot more fun for you than being pulled around the living room, but we both needed a nap (and a massage) after our snow fun.
Picture
21.365 Good morning, sunshine. You don't wake up as easily as you used to and need a bit of time to cuddle and relax before becoming your active self. And I'm completely okay with that.

"A girl is Innocence playing in the mud, Beauty standing on its head, and Motherhood dragging a doll by the foot." - Alan Beck
Picture
8.366 The Toothbrush Bandit. Even with babyproof locks on the drawers, you reach your tiny, nimble hand into the bathroom drawn for one of your favorite little games which involves stealing toothbrushes that don't belong to you and pitter-pattering away as fast as you can.
Picture
9.366 The 3 staples of a good nighttime sleep: your lamb doll, your blankie and your paci. I don't know when it happened or how, but sometime recently you decided that you love these 3 items, and in the morning you toddle out with them to watch Daniel Tiger while Mommy makes breakfast.
Picture
10.366 All day jammies days are the best and make for a happier mommy and a happier little curly haired girl.
Picture
11.366 In a very short time, your little sister will arrive. Here we are, the three of us.
Picture
12.366 Your grandparents gave you a dancing Snoopy for Christmas. You like to play your piano while Snoopy dances, and then when he falls off, you gasp and act surprised.
Picture
13.366 We finally have snow, but it's bitterly cold and windy, so inside we stay. Here you are reading your Daniel Tiger book, but it's imperative that your figurines are there too.
Picture
14.366 You are quite proud of how well you brush your teeth. You are also proud of your first real ponytail.
