"And at the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair messy and your eyes sparkling." -Shanti

155.366 Daddy was hard at work in the evening sunlight, so we took advantage of the dwindling rays to explore the yard, visit with the goats, and then Daddy tried to teach you how to climb a redbud tree (you were too afraid, which is fine with me!) and drove you to the mailbox in the wheelbarrow. Then you two sat beneath the weeping cherry in peaceful silence.

156.366 You found Mommy's hat lying around and wanted to see if it fit your fashion style, which it did.

157.366 You love to visit with the baby. You really don't even need a chair to be able to scale your way into the crib and join her. Your tender hand-holding fills my heart, and Baby loves it too.
Picture
158.366 You received some giant Lego blocks for your birthday, and at first we had to take them away because you would get so frustrated. But now you're a Lego building pro and it's one of your favorite toys.

159.366 Before Baby woke one day, we snuck outside in the early morning hours and enjoyed a bit of tricycle riding and bubble blowing. The best part about country life is we can do all this in our jammies.

160.366 You hopped into my bed with your sippy of water and proceeded to think you were the sneakiest and funniest little girl in the world. Which is probably true.

161.366 You two are so much alike, you and your Daddy, that you even have the same mean mugging face.

Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero. ~Marc Brown

What a joy to work with these adorable little boys again!

It was expected to rain this day, but when we arrived at the park, it was sunshiny and beautiful. Mom came bearing totally awesome boy props, and Dad came ready to work his dad magic on the boys. There is just something about dads that gets their kiddos laughing. We may have all gotten a workout to get some shots that turned out so authentic and adorable of the little guy, but it was worth it! And big brother did an amazing job once again, so we got a few extra shots of him. And then when the session was over, it poured down rain, so this session was definitely meant to be!

I loved working with this beautiful family and look forward to watching these little guys grow!

Project 366: Days 148-154

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything. - Aaron Siskind

Many of these images are from April, but I couldn't help but include them because I definitely want them in my 366 project. Though they may seem unimportant, I remember each moment vividly and they have special places in my heart. The little things make up the greatness in my life.
Picture
148.366 Apples. You are an apple kid. I love the fall when the apples are ripe and you can't pass a tree without picking an apple off it. And you devour them with such force, taking giant bites with a very intense expression.

149.366 I remember this April day well. I promised you we'd play in the puddles. The sun was golden and the puddles were ripe for jumping. And then it rained and rained and you were so disappointed. So Daddy opened the window and you watched the rain together at the window, and suddenly you weren't sad anymore. Daddy can make anything better.

150.366 Those days when we were so tired all the time. But cuddles make up for all the late nights.

151.366 Big Sis loves to entertain, and you find her very interesting.

152.366 This musical snow globe was a gift from your godparents for your Baptism, and it is the Virgin Mary holding the Baby Jesus and plays Ave Maria. You made me play it at least 100 times and were completely entranced.

153.366 While I was attending to Baby, you came up to me and I noticed chocolate smeared across your face. I was puzzled where you had gotten chocolate. And then I went to the family room, where there Cocoa Pebbles on the couch and floor. Lots and lots of Cocoa Pebbles. You had dumped the entire box and just ate it off the couch. So here you are cleaning up your mess and sometimes enjoying a bite of the contents.

154.366 The afternoon when we just relaxed together in a corner of the family room. You read "Ten Tiny Toes" to Baby as she listened intently and then practiced your monkey shines when the book said "Open wide." Your Great Grandpa taught me how to make monkey shines when I was a little girl, although he had only his right arm, so we would laugh together when he would do a one-handed monkey shine. It's hard to believe how long ago that was when Mommy made monkey shines. And no doubt you will teach Little Baby how to do monkey shines in a few short years. Right now she's too interested in the light coming in the window.
