Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth Your ancient gladness! ~Thomas Blackburn, "An Easter Hymn" The weather continues to persist in a constant and unexpected cycle of winter and spring, and even on the most sunshine-filled of days, we are sometimes surprised by a sharp chill when we open the door. Nevertheless, we take advantage of the warm days and push through the winter ones.  127.366 We bought a bubble blower, which you normally just ignore completely, but you do like to sit at the bubble blower and pop the bubbles as they rise out. The weather started to become a little warm, so before they planted the field, we would bundle up and venture out in the chill through the cornfield, collecting sprigs of tall grass, Black Cat and Foo Foo trailing behind us.     128.366 You've developed an intense desire to help lately. You are insistent upon washing dishes, although it often ends up in Mommy rewashing them or drying puddles of water off the floor.  129.366 Park days have come again! You love to run from one activity to the other, Daddy next to you for the ride. We sometimes go for a walk or visit the local ice cream shop too.   130.366 The moment you wake up, I lay you on the changing table, and without fail, you give a giant stretch every time.   131.366 Before it became warm enough for air conditioners to be installed, Mommy showed you how to talk into the fan. You'd rather Bunny Rabbit do the talking in the funny voice.  131.366 Chilly weather won't stop us from doing what we love...sidewalk chalk!    132.366 You love to pick the dandelions for Mommy and give them a big whiff. Then you hand one to me. "Here Mommy. A flower." you sweetly say.

"A One-year-old child is so many things -- A tiny discoverer of butterfly wings, A hugger of Teddies, A sweet sleepyhead, And someone to dream for in bright years ahead..." I can't believe this little dumpling is one already! She is absolutely precious, wanting to inspect everything around her, especially the little petals that had fallen off the trees, and showing off some fierce dance moves when her daddy turned on some music. That being said, she was doing some serious mean mugging the entire session. Ha ha! She didn't cry, not even when I accidentally popped her balloon in a failed attempt at peek-a-boo, but this little sweetie was not going to crack a smile. She got through the session like a pro, and then at the end, after tickles and kisses from Mommy and Daddy, she snuggled up in her momma's arms and drank her bottle. It was the sweetest little tender moment I ever saw. Happy 1st Birthday, Sweetie Pie! I hope this next year is full of discovering, fun, giggles, and love. 
    
     Slow down Won’t you stay here a minute more I know you want to walk through the door But it’s all too fast Let’s make it last a little while I pointed to the sky and now you wanna fly I am your biggest fan I hope you know I am But do you think you can somehow Slow down "Slow Down" by Nichole Nordeman  120.366 I asked you to give Twinkles a kiss, but you just giggled and this is the closest you'd get.  121.366 You are my little hair twirler, my snuggler. You love to cuddle and to be held all the time, but you just love to twirl Mommy's long hair around your chubby, little finger.   122.366 You were helping Daddy with dishes (aka playing in the water and moving dishes from one sink to the other) when Daddy showed you how to blow bubbles in the sink using a straw. That Daddy's the coolest guy.  123.366 A few days before Mommy had to return to work, we took you to Chuck E Cheese's for one last outing. It was probably the last time we'll go there, but I think you're favorite part was running up the skee ball lane. It was probably not my best mom move to take a photo before I stopped you, but looking at the craziness that was happening around us, I don't think anybody thought anything of it.  124.366 Baby's first round of shots. You took them like a pro, and the Band-aids look pretty darn cute on your chubby little thighs.  125.366 Rain for days. You sing "Rain rain, go away" on a daily basis.   126.366 You love to help with your little sister. Whether it's turning on her Mamaroo, reading her a book, or wiping away spit up, you're always ready to chip in. What a lucky sister your Baby Sister is to have another Little Mommy to help her out.   |
