"On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered, 'Life will never be the same.' Because there had never been anyone like you ever in the world." - On the Night You Were Born Yesterday we celebrated our Sweet Baby Jo's half birthday. 6 months have flown by in the wink of an eye, so quickly, in fact, that I'm just now finishing up photos from her debut into the world. She can now sit and laugh and babble and eat rice cereal and play with her toys and cuddle. She has been such a huge blessing to our lives, a wonderful addition to our family, and a happy little soul to grace the world. It's so odd how before you become pregnant, you have no idea how wonderful your child is going to be, but when you have a child, you hardly remember life before them, that they just seem to have always been in your life and life would be incomplete without them. And so it feels with our Baby Jo. It's hard to believe that in another blink of an eye, I'll be writing to tell you that she's a year old and walking and saying "Dada" and such. Until then, we treasure each milestone and each cuddle and smile. Happy 1/2 Birthday, Baby Jo. ♥ My sister happened to have her baby boy the day before our delivery at the same hospital, so she was able to come down and visit, and my husband snapped this shot of my nephew in the nursery.

I've always wanted to participate in a blog circle, so I happily jumped on board when I was asked by Share Six to participate in their July Blog Circle with the theme of {kitchen}. My kitchen is one of my least favorite rooms in the house because it's itty bitty...get more than 2 people in there, and you're definitely in someone's way. But I spend a lot of time in there, not just getting an endless supply of snacks for my little one or preparing meals for my family or washing that mountain of dishes, but also because I know that it has some of the best morning light ever. This is also the room where my daughter begs me to dance with her as I cook breakfast or where a lot of conversations happen with my husband as we try to talk in between taking care of the kiddos. It's a bit difficult to photograph in such a tiny space, but that light is too hard to pass up. Once you've scrolled to the bottom, make sure to click the link to hop over to Sharleen's six kitchen images and follow the circle around where each photographer shares 6 kitchen images! Eek!! I love blog circles! Participating in this is as if I was asked to participate in a flash mob...dream come true! ;) Now head on over to Sharleen's blog to see more awesome kitchen goodness!
"And at the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair messy and your eyes sparkling." -Shanti 155.366 Daddy was hard at work in the evening sunlight, so we took advantage of the dwindling rays to explore the yard, visit with the goats, and then Daddy tried to teach you how to climb a redbud tree (you were too afraid, which is fine with me!) and drove you to the mailbox in the wheelbarrow. Then you two sat beneath the weeping cherry in peaceful silence. |
