"On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered, 'Life will never be the same.' Because there had never been anyone like you ever in the world." - On the Night You Were Born Yesterday we celebrated our Sweet Baby Jo's half birthday. 6 months have flown by in the wink of an eye, so quickly, in fact, that I'm just now finishing up photos from her debut into the world. She can now sit and laugh and babble and eat rice cereal and play with her toys and cuddle. She has been such a huge blessing to our lives, a wonderful addition to our family, and a happy little soul to grace the world. It's so odd how before you become pregnant, you have no idea how wonderful your child is going to be, but when you have a child, you hardly remember life before them, that they just seem to have always been in your life and life would be incomplete without them. And so it feels with our Baby Jo. It's hard to believe that in another blink of an eye, I'll be writing to tell you that she's a year old and walking and saying "Dada" and such. Until then, we treasure each milestone and each cuddle and smile. Happy 1/2 Birthday, Baby Jo. ♥ 
 My sister happened to have her baby boy the day before our delivery at the same hospital, so she was able to come down and visit, and my husband snapped this shot of my nephew in the nursery.

Usually you stand on a chair or sit in your high chair, but all of a sudden, you want to sit in a chair instead. But watch out, that little baby is eyeing your food!  177.366 You're rolling all over the place these days, and it took no effort at all. On June 2, you rolled to your belly, and by June 17, you could roll to your back. By mid-June, you were even trying to sit up. Slow down, Baby Jo!     178.366 The old days when you wore sleep sacks all day, every day, and you even sucked a paci instead of your thumb. You still sleep in your swing many days, but you're making the move to your crib. If not for your pesky teeth, you'd be the best sleeper ever.   179.366 Our first zoo visit of the year, and Baby Jo's first visit ever. Your favorite animals of all, the tigers, came up to the glass, and in all my years of going to the zoo, I've never seen them up close until then. You rode the carousel, we made friends with some little birds in the Rainforest, you tried to pull a kangaroo's tail, and Baby Jo slept through it all. Overall, one of the best zoo visits ever. (June 8)   180.366 Your face when your big sister comes out of nowhere and photobombs you while you're having your portrait taken.  181.366 Why invest in toys when you can just leave the suitcases lying about to play in?  182.366 Daddy read "Five Little Monkeys" to you and asked if you jump on the bed. You said no. He asked if Mommy jumped on the bed. You said no. Little does he know what we do when he's at work! “I will not play at tug o’ war. I’d rather play at hug o’ war, Where everyone hugs Instead of tugs, Where everyone giggles And rolls on the rug, Where everyone kisses, And everyone grins, And everyone cuddles, And everyone wins.” - Where the Sidewalk Ends  169.366 "I love Cubs more than cupcakes." Well, Cupcake, judging by your chubby little cheeks and thighs, I hardly think that would be the case if you could get your dimpled hands on a cupcake!  170.366 What a good helper you are, letting Foo Foo in the house and giving her treats. "Silly Foo Foo," you say.   171.366 You love your exersaucer for all of ten minutes at a time. It's interesting that you are most intrigued by the octopus, which always captured your Big Sister's attention too. Speaking of Big Sister, she's tried getting in the exersaucer a few times too, sometimes with you in it! (May 27, 2016)   172.366 When it was finally warm enough to grill out and Daddy taught you how to grill hamburgers. Your Daddy is an expert griller, and you were a good little pupil so that I think you'll be an expert griller someday too.
 173.366 For the love of donuts. I feel this way about them too.   174.366 Kentucky Derby 2016. You've even got the hat. We missed winning big money and buying a house in Ireland by only one horse in our trifecta pick!   175.366 You sweet, sweet girl. You were bitten in the eye by a mosquito and your eye swelled completely shut---this isn't the first time. But you seem not even to notice a single thing has changed. What a beautiful, happy little girl you are.  |
